A central Supply Chain Management (SCM) structure was established to manage the Supply Chain activities of FSC with regards to the purchase of goods & services. The Central Supply concept hinges around the purchasing function of all Mills, Head Office, and Research Centre & FSC Services in Sydney. The idea is to bring all purchasing to one point, this will allow for more efficient purchasing process. Large savings can be made through the elimination of several Purchase Orders being generated from different sites for the same item, as well as consolidation of orders through forward maintenance planning. In all its actions and dealings with external suppliers, the Supply Chain team will exhibit the highest standards of ethics and will uphold FSC values. |
