The Corporate Engineering Services (CES) of the Fiji Sugar Corporation Ltd, was resurrected in 1988 in the wake of the major Capital Investment Drive. Since its existence, CES has played a major role in executing capital projects and maintenance works for the four sugar mills.

Being an in-house contractor, with vast knowledge and background of sugar industry plants and equipments and being ‘purely’ involved with works related to sugar manufacture, Corporate Engineering Services has the capability of carrying out:

• Civil works
• Heavy and light structural steel fabrication and erection works; this includes building structures, Fabricating & Erecting tanks of any diameter and height, Fabricate and assemble Cane Trucks, Fabricating & Erecting conveyor structures and installation of conveyors, Pressure Vessels; fabricating structures and installation of Continuous Vacuum Pan, Evaporators, Vacuum Pan, Crystallizers, Driers, High Pressure Steam and Water Piping.
• Roller turning, machining parts, installation of high-speed and low-speed gearing mills and any type of fabrication, erection and installation work of any size, shape and weight.
• Manufacture of rail Turnouts Portable lines and spares.

CES has three large fully equipped Engineering workshops, large storage yard, together with precision assets to carry out jobs of any size efficiently and professionally.

The following precision assets are available with CES to carry out work efficiently:

• Number of lathes ranging from a radius of 8” to 28”
• Radial Drilling machine
• Shaper machine
• 20mm thickness Guillotine machine
• 250ton Press Brake
• Hydraulic Roller (3m wide x 32mm thick plate)
• Hydraulic punching machine
• 25 ton O/H crane
• AC/DC Welding machines
• Profile cutting machine
• Plasma cutting machine and various other Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering tools to carryout work professionally.

CES also has a 50ton mobile crane, 5ton forklift, 5ton Hiab Truck, a carting trailer and two pickup vans to assist with fabricating and carrying out erection works in any of the four Sugar Mills.
